SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

The Tumbledown Conservation Alliance is planning several events in Weld this summer. There will be an informational reception at the Kawanhee Inn and a celebration both in Weld village and on the summit of Tumbledown itself at the beginning of August. TCA will also have a table at Weld's annual Heritage Day in late July. Precise dates and times will be listed on this schedule. Our slideshow about this project is being shown to groups around Maine. TCA has a great deal of fundraising ahead to match the generous state and federal funds which we have recently received. E-mail us, conservetumbledown@hotmail.com ...we welcome your suggestions. Bake sales and carwashes, environmental organizations which we may not be aware of, old climbers of Tumbledown, Mt. Blue, and Bald, in Maine & everywhere, who can help maintain public access to this unique landscape-----PLEASE SEND US YOUR SUGGESTIONS!

UPCOMING

Thursday, October 14 is the Brook Trail work day! Meet at 8:30 AM at the Brook Trail under Tumbledown Brook Trail Work Project summary: Fix water bars, clean out water bars (some already done), possibly create some new water bars, about a day of chain saw work, sides of trail need to be pruned back, re-blaze the trail. In a couple places where there are two paths, divert people to one. All the trail maintenance on the Brook Tail could easily be done in one work day, if enough people come. Creation of new water bars would take additional days.
